DOE Hosts Thermal Receiver Workshop, Dr. Wagner a Featured Panelist

Dr. Wagner will join an expert panel at an upcoming workshop sponsored by the US Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO). He will join Brian Fronk (Oregon State University), Mark Messner (Argonne National Laboratory), and David Wait (Nooter/Eriksen) in discussing impactful R&D for  concentrating solar power (CSP) technology adoption. The SETO office describes the workshop goals:

SETO’s $0.05 per kilowatt-hour levelized cost of electricity target for CSP plants with >12 hours of thermal energy storage is likely to be realized only with a significant increase in solar energy to electricity conversion efficiency. The goal of this workshop is to discuss opportunities and challenges in developing solar receivers for power tower applications that can enable new designs to make CSP feasible, cost effective, and reliable.
